HubBub — GitHub notifications in your macOS menu bar.
Short version: Terastar Labs does not collect, receive, or store any of your data. HubBub talks directly to GitHub's own servers from your Mac; your GitHub credential lives only in your Mac's Keychain.
What HubBub collects
Nothing, on our end. HubBub has no backend server and sends no data to Terastar Labs or any Terastar infrastructure. The only credential HubBub handles is the one you supply — a GitHub personal access token, or a token from GitHub's OAuth device authorization flow — and it is stored exclusively in your Mac's Keychain. It is never written to disk in plaintext, logged, or transmitted anywhere except in authenticated requests to GitHub's own API.
Where your data goes
Every network request HubBub makes — fetching your unread notifications, resolving a notification to
its web URL, completing sign-in — goes directly from your device to GitHub's servers
(api.github.com and github.com). GitHub's handling of that data is governed by
GitHub's own privacy statement,
not this one. HubBub does not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or any other third-party SDK.
Data retention and deletion
Your GitHub credential stays in Keychain until you sign out from HubBub's menu or delete the app. Since Terastar Labs never receives a copy of it, there is nothing on our side to retain or delete.
Children's privacy
HubBub is a developer utility not directed at children, and it collects no data regardless of who runs it.
